CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KMTV) - The Chairman of Iowa's Republican Party, Jeff Kaufmann, did not mince words when talking about Sen. Ben Sasse when speaking before Donald Trump in Cedar Rapids Wednesday night.
"We had Sen. Ben Sasse from Nebraska, he crosses the Missouri River, and sanctimonious tone talks about what he doesn't like about Donald Trump, you know what Sen. Sasse? I really don't care what you like," Kaufmann said. "We love Donald Trump and if you don't love him, I suggest you stay on your side of the Missouri River."
The event Kaufmann is referring to is when Sasse visited Iowa last January prior to the state's GOP caucus with the goal of defeating Trump.
Kaufmann also told reporters after Trump's speech that Sasse was an arrogant academic and believes he only says some of the things he says to grow a name for himself to run for president in 2024.
