OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska Legislature’s Judiciary Committee is hosting a pair of listening forums for the public next week following the deaths of George Floyd and James Scurlock.

The first forum is planned for Monday, June 8 at the Scott Conference Center in Aksarben Village at 9 a.m.

The Lincoln session will be held on Tuesday.

According to Nebraska State Sen. Tony Vargas, the forums will allow the public to speak directly to lawmakers tasked with oversight of Nebraska's justice system.

He says people are encouraged to share their experiences, concerns and ideas about change.
