The identity of the Omaha teenager who drowned in Lake Manawa on Monday has been released.
The Iowa DNR says the victim is 16 year old Edgar Gregorio Loarca Garcia. Garcia apparently rolled off an inner tube in the swimming area of Lake Manawa beach around 1:15 p.m. Monday and went under the water and did not resurface. It's believed Garcia was not an experienced swimmer.
The DNR says the swimming area at the Lake Manawa beach will likely be closed for the rest of the week.
