OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) An iconic staple in Little Italy anticipates a huge turnout will jumpstart its rebuilding efforts.

Sons of Italy is hoping a dinner fundraiser on Saturday will help them open its doors once again.

A two-alarm fire heavily damaged the hall in January which only left the brick frame standing and damage expenses more than $670,000.

To help cover some of the costs, St. Joseph Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will host a dinner fundraiser Saturday, starting at 4 p.m.

Some of the raised money will go towards causes the organization supports, such as Autism Speaks, Alzheimer’s Association, Military Heroes and Cooley’s Anemia.

According to organizers:

  • The menu will feature homemade sausages on a bun with peppers and onions, potato salad and dessert and watermelon for a preferred donation.
  • Preferred donations for dinner will be $10, if adding wine or beer then $20.
  • Cash only.
