OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — According to a tweet from Hillside Solutions, a going green consultation service, Omaha's Brownell Talbot School is now diverting 82% of lunch waste away from landfills.
Hillside Solutions says that's just 7% away from zero waste status.
The numbers are in! @BrownellTalbot now diverts 82% of lunch waste from the landfill (which is only 7% away from being considered #zerowaste). That's 43 pounds of recycling, 360 pounds of #compost, and 432 students who now participate in this program on a daily basis! pic.twitter.com/4uPmP7tPEE
