COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. (KMTV) — On Monday, a Council Bluffs man was arrested on charges of kidnapping in the third degree and lascivious acts with a child after a missing 4-year-old girl was found with him.
Officers were called to a home at 1100 Marshall Avenue while searching for the missing girl. Officers arrived and located the girl when Michael Brandstrom brought her out of his apartment and turned her over to officers. Brandstrom's story was that he found the girl outside and brought her to his apartment to keep her safe.
Investigators determined that he kept the girl in his apartment without calling the police. They also found many other issues with his story. Brandstrom's apartment was searched and several nude photos of the juvenile female were found on his cell phone. Brandstrom was arrested and transported to Pottawattamie County Corrections. Additional charges may be pending.
