A 29-year-old man showed up at the Nebraska Medical Center emergency room with a gunshot wound overnight, and told Omaha Police he had been a victim of a drive-by shooting.
Officers responded to the hospital at 2:11 a.m. Monday to talk with the victim. According to an OPD press release, the man told officers that occupants in a dark-colored Jeep fired multiple gun shots at the vehicle he was riding in near 40th Street and Grand Avenue.
The man was struck by the gunfire, the release states, but his injury is not considered life threatening.
Officers did find a crime scene at 38th Street and Grand Avenue, the release states. The investigation is ongoing.
