A judge sentenced Joseph Madej to up to 22 years for felony motor vehicle homicide and for driving under the influence and causing injury.
Police say Madej ran a stop sign near 41st and Madison and hit Daniel and Patricia McDonald on their motorcycle.
Daniel died at the scene.
Patricia was seriously hurt.

"I just miss him so much and I just celebrated my 50th birthday yesterday without my best friend," she said.

A police drug expert said Madej was under the influence of booze in the crash.
Madej admitted to taking prescription meds.
