PACIFIC JUNCTION, Iowa. — A Mandatory Evacuation order has been issued for residents of Pacific Junction who live west of Depot Street.

The evacuation is due to rising water and a potential for loss of structural integrity in the containment system.

Gas has been shut off to the entire community and electricity has been stopped on the West side of Pacific Junction, a press release from Mills County Emergency Management says.

Evacuation routes are East on Lincoln Avenue to 221st St. into Glenwood. Shelter is available at Salem United Methodist Church, located at 14955 Somerset Avenue in Council Bluffs.
