A memorial fund has been set up for a woman killed in a crash in Saunders County Sunday.

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Jessica Thomas, of Wahoo, was killed in a crash around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 92 and 77.

Investigators say the driver of a 2000 GMC pickup truck, 42-year-old Douglas W. Cerny, of Osceola, ran a stop sign and hit  Thomas’ 2008 Pontiac G5.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene, but a passenger in her car, 33-year-old Tanner Hauck, of Wahoo, was taken to a Lincoln hospital in extremely critical condition.

Cerny was treated and released from the Saunders County Medical Center.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Nebraska State Patrol will send an accident reconstruction report to the county attorney, who will then decide on charges.

Premier Bank, where Thomas worked as a loan operations specialist, set up a fund in her memory.

“Jessie was a kind, wonderful person to get to know and work with and she will be greatly missed by everyone at the bank. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this most difficult time,” Chris Maher, the Premier Bank president, said in a prepared statement.

Donations can be made at any branch location.
