OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — If you live along the northern edge of Bellevue and it smells like some serious stank tomorrow, there's a reason why. The Metropolitan Utilities District will be carrying out a project which will require them to expel some natural gas.

On Thursday, they say "limited amounts of natural gas" will be expelled into the area as crews "replace pipe and valve elements to increase safety and reliability for customers."

The project will start at 7 a.m. and they say people may smell gas up to about 5 p.m. including parts of the Metro due to southern winds.

Natural gas is odorized as it has no detectable smell and can't be seen. Many describe it as smelling like eggs.
