OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — FEMA announced Wednesday that Nebraska is approved for the Lost Wages Assistance program, which will allow the state to provide an extra $300 per week on top of regular unemployment benefits to those unemployed due to COVID-19.
FEMA says they will work with Gov. Pete Ricketts to implement a system to make this funding available for residents.
On August 8, President Trump made up to $44 billion available from FEMA's Disaster Relief Fund to provide financial help to those who have lost wages due to the pandemic.
