LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Some Husker athletes recently took part in a job shadow day with Lincoln police and got a hands on experience of what officers deal with on a day-by-day basis. They strapped on vests and even put on headgear.

They participated in scenarios like high risk traffic stops and even engaged in high stress shoot/don't shoot situations.

Linebacker Collin Miller and Defensive Lineman Casey Rogers were among the Nebraska football players in the group.

They also learned more about CSI, K9, the Traffic Unit, and SWAT team.

Lincoln police say they hope to host similar events in the future.
