Officer injured in accidental shooting

UPDATE:  Omaha Police have identified the injured officer as 31 year old Ben Weidner, who has been with the department since 2008.
 
The Omaha Police Department says a man injured in an accidental shooting Monday morning was one of their officers.
 
Police and paramedics were called to a home near 149th & Pawnee road for a shooting around 9:30 a.m.. Omaha Police say the officer who is a male in his 30's is in stable condition at Nebraska Medicine where he underwent surgery. The officer's name has not been released.
 
The Douglas County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
