OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha City Council is under new leadership this morning. The Council voted five to two to make Councilman Chris Jerram the new President, succeeding Ben Gray. Gray will remain on the City Council.
Gray received the other two votes. Jerram was previously the Council's Vice President. His role is filled in a five to two vote by Councilman Vinny Palermo.

Jerram was also elected to the Council in 2009. He is the chairman of the Public Works Committee, and serves as a member of the law committee.
Palermo has served on the Council since 2017. Before coming to the Council, he was elected to the Omaha Public School Board. Palermo currently serves on the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency, and is the Board Chair of the Omaha Destination Marketing Corporation.
