Omaha Police officers and firefighter took a moment this morning to pray for their brothers and sisters in uniform at the blue mass.

Archbishop George Lucas presided over the mass at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. The tradition began more than 80 years ago and pays tribute to those who serve the communities and remembers those who have given their lives in the line of duty.

All first responders, their families and the public were encouraged to attend, regardless of religious beliefs.
