Wednesday is National Coffee with a Cop Day and Omaha residents will have a chance to meet with area law enforcement throughout the morning.

Omaha Police will be at the Hy-Vee near 96th and Q from 8 to 10 a.m. and the Sarpy County Sheriff will be at Lamar's Donuts from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.

The public is invited to ask any questions or voice any concerns.

Police officers who attend Coffee with a Cop say it is all about building positive relationships with the community by showing that they are just people like everyone else in the community. "They'll come in and they'll explain what's going on in their neighborhood, it could be something minor, could be something major, they'll ask how do we take care of the problem," said Lieutenant Steve King, Omaha Police Department.
