One man arrested after the shooting deaths of two people in Holdrege

HOLDREGE, NEB. (KMTV) — The Nebraska State Patrol said a 45-year-old man has been arrested and is in the Phelps County Jail tonight. They identify Manuel Gomez as the suspect in the shootings of three people in Holdrege, Neb. today.

The Holdrege Police Department responded to a shooting report this afternoon at 416 Logan Street and then identified additional crime scenes at the Sunrise View Apartments at 1422 12th Avenue.

They found 65-year-old Raymond Burton and 54-year-old David Rogers dead in separate units of the apartment complex. 64-year-old Doyle Morse was shot at 416 Local Street but was able to call 911. He's in critical condition at a hospital in Kearney.

Police took Gomez into custody after a short, low-speed pursuit.
