OPD: possible attempted abduction turns out to be false

UPDATE: (8:16 p.m.) Omaha Police officials said after they interviewed people in the investigation, they determined that there was no incident. 


Omaha Police officers are investigating a possible attempted child abduction that took place near the 3000 block of Paddock Road Thursday afternoon. 

This is located near Paddock Road Elementary School. 

According to OPD, they received a call around 4:20 p.m. 

Officials say a 10-year-old boy playing with his 6-year-old sister outside when a man approached.

This is when the man grabbed the boy by his arm and began dragging him. 

OPD officials said the boy screamed for help and was able to break free.

Authorities described the man as a 30-year-old black male, last seen wearing a grey vest with a Dare Devil shirt underneath.
