OPD reports first homicide of 2021, less than 3 hours in

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — At approximately 2:55 a.m., the Omaha Police Department (OPD) responded to the Days Inn And Suites at the 115th block of Miracle Hills Drive for a shooting.

At the scene, officers found 26-year-old James Reed deceased.

A second victim, 29-year-old Ashley Tyshown, was also found at the scene suffering "non-life-threatening injuries." Tyshown was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

OPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.
