OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — On Thursday evening, the Omaha Police Department was called to Millard South High to investigate reports of possible school threats.

Working with staff, officers and investigators were able to identify and contact the suspect and placed the person under arrest. They say the arrest took place without incident and the suspect has been booked into the Douglas County Youth Center for making Terroristic Threats.

Millard Public Schools sent us this letter which was shared with parents of Millard South High Students:

Dear Millard South Community,

I’m writing to keep you informed. It was brought to our attention last night that one of our students made threats against the school. We immediately contacted police. They began a full investigation, and the student has been arrested.

We are confident the police have thoroughly investigated and resolved the matter. We appreciate their swift response, and we will also follow our student code of conduct. A threat will never be tolerated.

Safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate our partnership with law enforcement. We will always investigate these matters thoroughly. You can help. If your child ever brings any comments or concerns to you, please reach out to us.

Thank you,

Mrs. Heidi Weaver
Principal
