OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Operators of the Open Door Mission held a banquet and brunch Monday afternoon to help residents of the shelter celebrate the new year.
Thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers, food was provided for the guests, who say it meant a lot.
"It is a wonderful atmosphere, its like love from the first day I worked through the door," Jackie Major, who is staying at the Open Door Mission said. "Same love every day, good atmosphere, good people to be around."
Onverall, the Open Door Mission serves about 2,000 meals per day each year.
