OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Pepsi has been offered its third 10-year deal to remain the exclusive beverage for Nebraska University products under the terms of a new contract to be presented to the Board of Regents on January 25.
Since 1997, LinPepCo Partnership, the Lincoln distributor for Pepsi, has held licensing rights for the university. The current contract comes to an end on June 30.
LinPepCo submitted a proposal expected to generate about $1.77 million per year. That would be an increase of about nine percent from the previous contract, which generated about $1.63 million per year.
If approved by the regents, the contract would provide rights on retail, all drink products for City and East campuses, and university-owned and operated facilities at Nebraska Innovation Campus. Certain sponsorship rights in sports facilities where Husker teams play would also be included.
The terms of the agreement would allow Pepsi to use university trademarks for advertisement and beverage sales.
