PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (KMTV) — The City of Plattsmouth is requesting a voluntary reduction of 30% for all residential, industrial, commercial and institutional water uses.

Plattsmouth's Public Works Director issued a Water Emergency Order to supplement the Water Emergency Declaration issued last week, a press release from the City says.

Irrigation of lawns and other landscaping, washing down driveways and similar outdoor uses, operating and filling swimming pools, washing vehicles and operation of commercial car washes are all prohibited. The City is also requiring restaurants to serve water only upon request and that they only use single serving table settings.

The City's water supply continues to be safe for consumption.
