Omaha Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run crash in South Omaha that killed a motorcyclist.
Luis Velasquez-Ortiz, 42, was located and booked Thursday afternoon on a felony arrest warrant for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury or death. Velasquez-Ortiz is the registered owner of the vehicle involved in a Wednesday crash near 32nd and Q streets that left motorcyclist Juan J. Moreno-Tamayo, 31, dead.
Police said Velasquez-Ortiz failed to yield at a stop sign, hit Moreno-Tamayo on his motorcycle, and then fled the scene.
