The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles has released an adjusted design of the new license plates that will be issued next year.
The new plates have a modified image of The Sower, which more accurately depicts the sculpture that sits atop the Nebraska State Capitol. The DMV says production of the plates will resume immediately, and it expects the new plates to be produced on time at no additional expense to the state.
Production stopped in April after it was discovered that the artist who originally submitted The Sower image used on the plate was actually a different sower than the one atop the Capitol building.
