The storms overnight damaged the Ralston firework display so the show has been canceled, but city officials hope they can schedule it at a later date.

On the 4th of July, the Ralston Independence Day Show had only been going on for two minutes when it was stopped because of high winds and later rain.  The Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce says the company who runs the display said the storms overnight damaged the fireworks so much that they were a total loss.

They had hoped to have the show on July 5 but it's now been canceled.

"It's just kind of a bummer you have a great day and then at the end of the night you're just wanting to spend time with your family and watch a great display and it's kind of a bummer," said Amy Roeber, President of the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber hopes to have another fireworks show at a later date, but a lot of work has to be done to put it together.  They anticipate it taking a few months.
