Registration for Salvation Army's Turkeyfest begins

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Salvation Army will begin taking reservations today for its 28th annual TurkeyFest, which is set for Thanksgiving Day.

TurkeyFest is a city-wide feeding effort that provides complimentary Thanksgiving dinners to older adults. Registration goes until the 21st, and the Salvation Army will have approximately 1,400 dinners available for those who qualify.

Recipients of the dinners must be 60 years of age or older. Registration can be done by calling 402-898-6023, and phone lines are open Monday through Friday from 9:00-3:00. You MUST speak to a Salvation Army representative on the phone in order to register, as voicemails will not be accepted.

In order to receive a meal, recipients must be home on Thanksgiving morning.
