Omaha Congressman Don Bacon commemorated Native American Heritage month on Monday.
On the House floor, Bacon honored Dr. Rudi Mitchell, a Native American community leader in Omaha. Several people gathered at Creighton University to watch the congressman talk about Mitchell's accomplishments.
Bacon says Mitchell has made a resounding impact on those suffering from depression, mental illness and thoughts of suicide.
