Through the generosity of the volunteers and donors, families traveling to Omaha for medical care get to stay at the Ronald McDonald House at no cost.  In order to help even more families, the house is expanding.  For that to happen, a big move must take place this weekend.

All 20 families are moving out on Saturday and moving into UNO's Scott Court for the summer.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator Hunter Samuels says the move will be the best in the long run.  Since 2015, the Ronald McDonald House has been at capacity.  Last year they had to turn away around 800 families.  The 20,000 square foot addition includes 20 new guest rooms and a first of its kind in-house clinic.

To make room for the transformation, the Ronald McDonald House is having a garage sale on Saturday.  From 7am-2pm you can head to 620 S 38th Ave and find anything from kitchen appliances to office equipment.  All the proceeds go back to the house.

They also need volunteers to help with Saturday's move, if you'd like to help contact Alex at abenson@rmhcomaha.org.
