September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and one local group is pulling out all of the stops to raise awareness.
Sammy's Superheroes took over Village Pointe Toyota yesterday for games and appearances by superheroes to raise awareness.
The founders of the group hope they can help other families after their own experience with childhood cancer. The group has provided more than $500,000 in research grants to find new treatments for childhood cancer.
"Seeing other families here and attending this event and supporting the work we're doing makes me very proud and just really happy," Founder Erin Nahorny said.
