South Omaha shooting victim dies

Omaha Police say the man wounded in a shooting in South Omaha Wednesday afternoon has now died.

Police were called to a home near 48th and Y Streets just after 4 p.m..  There they found 32 year old Matthew Johnson with a gunshot wound.  Paramedics performed CPR on Johnson as they transported him to Nebraska Medicine, but he died from his injuries.

Police have not made any arrests. Anyone with information is urged to contact the OPD Homicide Unit at 444-5656 or Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP, at www.omahacrimestoppers.org[police.cityofomaha.org]or on the P3 Tips mobile app. Tips leading to the arrest of a homicide suspect are eligible for an enhanced reward of up to $25,000.
