Omaha police responded to a shooting at 144th and Manderson Plaza on Tuesday night.
A 17-year-old says he accidentally shot his 44-year-old father.
Police say he was shot in the head and taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition.
They have not confirmed the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The shooting happened in a second floor apartment.
OPD officials say that homicide detectives have now taken over this investigation which remains ongoing.
