OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Stephen Center paid tribute to veterans on Wednesday.
A patriotic event honored vets who suffer from homelessness, poverty or addiction. Shelter leaders say they're grateful for the service of those they serve.
"We like to come out here to the Stephen Center and raise the flag,” said Beth Ellis, Stephen Center Volunteer Coordinator. “Throughout the year, we served 57 veterans. Today, we have 21 veterans and we want to thank them for their service and dedication to their country very special to us."
The homeless shelter provides housing support and other services to veterans throughout the year.
