COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — In Council Bluffs, city officials said your daily routine will be interrupted. Due to inclement weather, trash collections did not happen.
One city official wanted to remind you to be patient with waste haulers during these difficult weather conditions. They asked that people don't place trash and recycling on top of snowdrifts, since it could lead to unwanted waste.
“We have no trucks on the road today at all, that will give our city crews time to clean the streets and roadway,” said Waste Management Superintendent Tony Fiala. “So everything heading for tomorrow — it's going to be a long-duration event going into the wee hours of the morning."
Trash and recycling collection will be one day behind the remainder of the week.
