SARPY COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — Two people are dead and one other injured after a Saturday afternoon crash on Interstate 80.
Capt. Kevin Griger with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says a car crossed the median near mile marker 434 and was struck by an oncoming semi. Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch along the westbound lane.
Griger said road conditions at the time of the crash were "really bad."
The driver and a front seat passenger in the car were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was identified as 30-year-old David Hardy Jr. of Omaha, while the front seat passenger was identified as 30-year-old Sabrina Reynolds of Omaha.
A rear seat passenger in the car is in critical condition at Bergan Mercy.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office, the Sarpy County Crash Team and State Patrol responded to the scene.
