Sarpy County deputies are investigating the near drowning of a two year old child Friday evening.
Rescuers were called to a home on South 162nd Street near Wehrspann Lake after the child was found at the bottom of a swimming pool just before 8 p.m. and was pulled from the water by family members. An arriving deputy performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
The child was taken to Lakeside Hospital and then transferred to Children's Hospital, and is listed in critical but stable condition.
This is the second near drowning of a child in two days. Thursday a 9 month old was taken to CHI-Bergan Mercy after nearly drowning in a bathtub in an apartment near 86th Parkway and Q Street.
