A woman who was accidentally shot in her home Thursday afternoon has died.
Sarpy County Deputies and Omaha Fire Department paramedics were called to a home near 183rd and Emiline around 3:30 p.m.. When they arrived, they found 68 year old Afton Teague laying on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to the head. Teague was rushed to CHI Bergan Mercy where she died from her injuries.
Deputies are still investigating, but say Teague's husband had been at an indoor shooting range earlier in the day, and may have accidentally shot his wife as he started to clean a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
