OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Many have already received their stimulus checks and with more still on the way, shopping local is how you can help businesses in your community stay open.
On 84th street, the store It's All About Bees is all about customer service.
Serving every customer a hot cup of tea, sweetened with their handmade honey is part of the experience you can get when you shop local.
The store has hundreds of products, including raw honey, jams, salsa, BBQ sauce and candles.
At the start of the pandemic, they had to switch things up a bit, adding in weekly deliveries and curbside pickup.
The owner says the loyalty of their customers kept them afloat.
"It determines if we are able to pay our bills, how many people we can keep employed. A lot of the shows we depend on did not happen so we focused on our online sales and getting to our customers that way and through social media," said Wendy Fletcher, owner of It's All About Bees.
Considering themselves a food manufacturer and supplying honey and honey made products to local grocery stores was also a key element in them not having to close their doors.
She says this time of year, their honey body care products seem to be a big hit.
