Officials with Creighton University have suspended a fraternity after one of their members was involved in an assault on campus early Saturday morning.
Creighton officials say that Phi Kappa Psi’s Nebraska Beta fraternity chapter has been suspended from campus due to the incident.
The suspect, Christopher Wheeler was a new member of the fraternity.
School officials say that Wheeler is no longer enrolled and has been banned from Creighton University.
This past Saturday, Wheeler was accused of assaulting two students on campus.
Both victims had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to CHI Health Creighton for treatment.
Officials have called this an isolated incident.
Officers arrested Wheeler for Felony Assault, Use of a Weapon (Not gun) to Commit a Felony and Obstructing an Officer.
Phi Kappa Psi's national office issued the following statement:
"The suspect Christopher Wheeler was a new member of Phi Kappa Psi. Phi Kappa Psi is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. "
