A Tennessee woman has called her 6-year-old son's daycare facility negligent after he was left alone outside when it closed early in observance of Veterans Day.

Megan Talley, of Parrotsville, Tennessee, told WATE-TV that one of her son's school teachers happened to find him alone and crying outside Precious Memories daycare on Friday afternoon.

"I almost went into a full blown panic attack," Talley told the TV station.

Her son had apparently been dropped off at the daycare by his school bus, as usual. But Precious Memories had closed early for Veterans Day, which surprised Talley, given the holiday was on Saturday.

She said the business was negligent and complained to Tennessee's Department of Human Services, claiming she wasn't notified that it was closing early Friday.

The owner of Precious Memories told WATE that all recognized holidays are listed in a packet given to all parents, as well as being posted on the facility's front window.

"I think it was just a miscommunication," Pam Suggs said. "We can't run down just one person."
