Police Livonia, Michigan say a man was arrested for stealing more than $60,000 in merchandise from the Home Depot he worked at over the course of several months.

According to police, 39-year-old Donte Griffin from Detroit is facing several charges after stealing tools and other merchandise from the store.

Griffin was a flooring associate and began stealing items as early as June. Police say he'd take several items, including power equipment, and place them into an even larger item for sale.

Then, he would allegedly buy the larger item with the other tools inside.

According to police, workers started noticing their inventory was off in October and checked security tape.

Video showed Griffin buying garbage cans and roof turbines in the store, but workers said the seal looked tampered with.

Griffin was arraigned on the charges last week and is not allowed in the Home Depot store.
