In just five years, Kimba Hawks has gone from one pottery wheel in her basement to a studio and full blown community of 60 potters off Main Street in Elkhorn.

"This is my dream," she said.

That dream come true is something Hawks is especially grateful for. Seven weeks ago, a brain bleed almost took her life.

"It's hard not to get emotional through all of this," Hawks said. "I'm just so proud."
