Former Creighton basketball player Maurice Watson, Jr. Will be allowed to return home to Philadelphia.
A Douglas County judge reversed course Wednesday, allowing Watson to return home so he can continue treatment and rehab of his surgically repaired knee. Watson tore his ACL during a game in January. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine objected to Watson being able to return to the East Coast. Watson must stay at his parents home when he is not receiving treatment, make daily check-in calls to court officials, and appear at each pretrial hearing.
Watson is currently free on bond on a first degree sexual assault charge for allegedly raping a 19 year old student in the bathroom of a home near 33rd & Dewey on February 4th. Watson has denied the allegations.
Creighton suspended Watson after learning about the allegations. He is no longer enrolled as a student.
