Nebraska football's veteran place-kicker Drew Brown was named to the 2017 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award watch list Wednesday morning. The senior kicker was one of 30 kickers named to the watch list.

Brown had his most accurate season as a junior in 2016, connecting on 12 of his 14 field goals, including a career long 51-yarder against Purdue, and was also perfect on 38 extra point attempts.

The three-year starter enters his senior season ranked seventh all-time in scoring with 282 points. His 47 field goals ranks third in school history.

The Groza Award will announce its 20 semifinalists on Nov. 21 with the three finalists chosen on Nov. 21. The 2017 winner will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 7, during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
