LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) The Nebraska volleyball team opens the 2018 season in less than two weeks. The Huskers will welcome the return of Brooke Smith. The senior setter spent last year at Kansas State before returning to Lincoln last month.
"It feels incredible to be back," said Smith. "Everyone always says that 'there's no place like Nebraska' but that's so true and it rings true for me so I'm really excited to be back here."
Smith was part of NU's national championship team in 2015.
"Brooke is like the most competitive person I've ever met in my life," said fellow senior Kenzie Maloney. "So I think you know just having her in the gym every day is going to push a lot of people to work harder and compete and win."
The Huskers host the Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday at 3 p.m.
