LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) The Nebraska volleyball team takes the court on Wednesday for its first practice of the season. The Huskers are coming off their 2nd national title in three years. On Tuesday during its annual media & photo day, the Big Red announced it's motto for the year: This we will defend.
"It just talks about continuing to defend what we are at Nebraska volleyball and defend championships and things like that," said head coach John Cook.
NU returns four starters including last year's co-Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four, Mikaela Foecke.
"I feel like every year Nebraska is one of the top programs," said Foecke. "We're always being fought after and have a huge target on our back and so I feel like it's something you kind of get used to and you kind of live for."
The Huskers host the Red-White scrimmage on Saturday August 18 at 3 p.m.
