No. 3 Elkhorn defeated rival No. 7 Elkhorn South 51-40 in the Class B semifinals Friday afternoon.
The Antlers' took an early lead with an 11-0 run to start the first quarter. Elkhorn consistently held the lead throughout the first three quarters until the Storm crept up in the fourth quarter. After a basket from Elkhorn South's Lily Ziemkiewicz the Storm only trailed by three points. The Antlers' answered with a 5-0 run to take back control of the lead. Elkhorn South came within five points of Elkhorn a couple times before the Antlers ran away with the lead as the clock ran down.
No. 3 Elkhorn will advance to the finals Saturday, March 3rd at 1 p.m. The Antlers' will face the winner of No. 5 South Sioux City in the state finals at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
