It was always bound to happen. Former Husker quarterback commit, Bubba Starling, has made his way back to Nebraska. The Kansas City Royals announced via twitter that Starling has been promoted from NW Arkansas to Omaha. He will make his Storm Chasers debut tonight (weather permitting obviously).
Once upon a time Starling was a big time football and baseball recruit. He was a first round draft pick of the Royals, but while negotiating his contract Starling actually showed up for Husker fan day in a Husker uniform. It made for an interesting few days of speculation, but he ultimately chose to play pro baseball.
Starling has struggled at the plate at NW Arkansas this season hitting a paltry .185. The Royals organization may be hoping a change of scenery will help his hitting improve.
