Saturday morning, the ouglas County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 26-year-old Jaquan Marion.

The investigation is ongoing.

A Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot in the leg and a suspect was killed during a confrontation in south Omaha.

Deputies attempted to serve a search warrant at 2:30 a.m. at a home while looking for a man they believed was armed. When deputies tried to arrest him, a gunfight broke out. One deputy was shot in the leg and the suspect was shot and killed.

The injured deputy is receiving care at a hospital. Sheriff Hanson said other deputies rushed to help their injured colleague.

An armored truck and multiple Omaha Police and Douglas County Sheriff's Office vehicles remain on scene. The investigation is expected to take time, and the public is asked to avoid the area.
